MEGA-i Ranked #1 Data Centre in Hong Kong as SUNeVision Named One of the Top Data Centre Operators in Asia

SUNeVision Holdings Limited (“SUNeVision”, SEHK Stock Code: 8008), a premium carrier neutral data centre service provider in Hong Kong and a subsidiary of Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited, today announced that, it is named a top data centre operator in Asia, and its MEGA-i facility is ranked number one in the Hong Kong market, according to Q1, 2017 Leaderboard of Cloudscene, the world’s largest cloud directory.
The ranking of data centre operators is based on the combined score of data centre density, measured by total operated data centres, and connectivity, measured by the total number of PoPs. SUNeVision received second highest scores among the pool of service providers listed on Cloudscene in the whole Asia regions.
SUNeVision’s MEGA-i data centre, with 193 service providers listed, is ranked as number one in the Hong Kong market amongst the 84 colocation data centres that operate in Hong Kong, according to the Leaderboard.
MEGA-i is also ranked the seventh largest data centre globally. Built as one of most network dense facilities in the world, MEGA-i is a 30-storey, 350,000 gross square feet data centre that houses an established ecosystem of interconnected telecom operators, Internet service providers, OTT players, and enterprise customers. With the presence of 10 subsea cables and over 10,000 cross connects, this carrier and cloud neutral data centre serves as the telecom hub in the regions. Cloudscene, the world’s largest directory of colocation data centres, cloud service providers and network fabrics, publishes a quarterly leaderboard of the top data centre operators based on both data centre density (total operated data centres) and connectivity (the total number of PoPs) for the given regions. The Q1, 2017 Leaderboard reflects the top ten data centre operators in North America, EMEA, Oceania and Asia for the January to March 2017 period. Meanwhile, the top data centre operators are selected and ranked, based on a combined score using density and connectivity, from a pool of more than 4,900 service providers listed on Cloudscene.
